Playa Blanca, from a small fishing village, Playa Blanca has become an important tourist centre located close to the unbeatable beaches of Papagayo.
The first Franco-Norman settlement was established between Playa Blanca and Punta Papagayo, and today there still exists a vestige of this past: La Fortaleza del Aguila or Las Coloradas.
