Hi, We're (family with 2 kids) going to Lanzarote for the first time next week, we're planning to stay at The Rubicon Palace in Playa Blanca, would love to hear about your views and experience and any advice for 1st timers.

Also how long it takes from The Rubicon to get to the main resort in Playa Blanca, would we need a car?

Hi Riya
For a family you will love the Rubicon Palace Hotel.Superb rooms, good variety of food,5 swimming pools and lots going on day and night.

You won't need a car to get to the town.Simply walk out of the back of the Rubicon, turn left and "walk the walk".Great walk all along the coast, about 20 minutes to Playa Flamingo beach, great for kids, shallow and clean with a couple of restaurants and supermarkets.Another 20 mins and you will be at the town, you won't notice the journey as it is so pleasant. If the kids are too tired to walk back a cab from the centre will cost you about 3 euro's .Sure you will have a great time there.
