freedoddys long awaited return to Lanza! review

Just returned from PDC again, with "all" limbs still attatched amazingly!

Anyhoo, ran the gauntlet outside Atlantico a few times...PRs weren't bad at all. In fact, I managed to get very friendly with the head PR of Atomic Revolution (the bar which got a bit of stick a few years back) on account of him running the Sunset Beach bar at the bottom of cardiac hill. Name of Jamie, top fella. The bar was friendly and the music quiz kept us amused more then once...55pts out of 62 in last nights quiz, in fact, shame to give up the free meal voucher but the vodka wil come in useful...thanks guys!

On the subject of cardiac hill, we found ourselves living just up it...there was me thinking that the place was just an urban myth too. phew!

Restaurants all lived up to expectations again, La Dolce Vita (both the harbour and strip versions) shining through. Managed to only visit one Lani's, even though he's obviously been spreading his wings a bit with Indian and Mexican incarnations.

Island still gorgeous, 40 plus degrees all week, very misleading with the famous wind. I even burnt the first day, thats a first for me I can tell you. Apparently, that was us arriving a few days after a heatwave too...god help those who were there last week.

Went to Scotties bar for comedy night on Wednesday at Los Pocillos, pretty entertaining but it was strange having only 20 or so others in for the show at the time. Heard a lot of people complaining about how quiet the island has become.

Lastly, although i've heard rumours on here about Club 18-30 running tours there this year, i wasn't sure how true they were. Spoke to a few people who confirmed that this IS going to happen, along with another similar operator.

All in all, another good holiday with a few new opinions formed...if anyone has any questions, ask away.

Oh and PS, thanks for the tip on the Canary Kingdom cigarettes Elle1971, they have a new fan...although i'm keeping my lips sealed about just how many of them are siting in my kitchen now as I write! ;-)

Sounds like you had a great time! Good stuff! And no worries on the Canary Kingdoms - they're not too bad at all are they?

Elle xx

All I know is that its past the casino on the way to Los Pocillos (or in it, not sure exactly). The comedian is a guy from Dundee called Eric Gudmuson ( i think...typical scottish name that it is!) In a small square, next c.c down the road has titi trollopes in it...if that helps. The comedy consisted of Eric doing almost 2 hours of mainly stand up with a few irish songs thrown in. As i say, quite an accomplished performer but would go down very well with a bigger crowd! I think he owns the bar too.

jeez, been back about 5 days and already, my memory is like a sieve!!!
