The Powerhouse is rebranding as 'Harvey's on the 4th October. Don't know anymore than that.

Really? Whys that - went a couple of times in June and July and was fab!! Definitely a nice change from the usual bloke and a beatbox formula.

Actually was the first and only time actually enjoyed seeing Gary play - he seemed much more relaxed playing different stuff and having a load of rockers in front of him!

So what will sort of bar will Harvey's be?! Just the name fills me with dread!!!

Oops, got it wrong, it's 'Harley's' not Harvey's. My first thought was that it had been sold as I know it's been on the market for a while, but it's still in the same hands. Apparently they're looking for a more 'mainstream' clientelle.

Boom Boom!

Everytime I've been there or walked passed its been pretty busy and great to offer somthing different.

If something more mainstream = another bloke with a guitar doing karaoke I won't be back!

Well I don't know the facts and the finances but the one bloke and a guitar karaoke market is pretty packed. The bar on the top of the dorada beach was packing them in for their one bloke and a guitar so they would be competing directly with them. If they go "mainstream" surely they will be just shooting themselves in the leg.

The very reason that it was rockier with a bit of metal going on was the only reason we went! Suggest they hit the german and scandinavian market who love something a bit more metal sounding?

Pesonally I would rebrand it "Powerhaus" and go for the german hasselhoff angle!

Just got back from lanzarote and garry the guitar legend is still playing, we saw him in a pub called popeyes just above the Anvil,he is still very entertaining but starts to lose it a bit at the end due to all the bottles and snaps he drinks smiling smiley.
We also saw tina turner in the anvil bar who is very good, she was on after Robbo also a guitar player.
The Power house is now closed by Burger king, saw Garry play in there a couple of times last year.

Thanks Rich
