i have visited lanzarote more than 10 times, i go atleast twice a year and work there in the summer months. if you have any questions regarding the island please do not hesitate to contact me. obviously nightlife is my strong point, but being a resident for 4 months of the year i know a lot about the island and the resorts, temperatures, activities, maps, hotels and appartments, restaurants, day trips and sights worth seeing. you can mail me anytime. jade

Hi, Jade - here's a challenge for you!!! No-one else has managed to come up with the goods on this one!

In PDC last year, my other half and I visited an Indian Restaurant. The chef was called Max, and the restaurant was run by a Northern couple.

I can't remember the name of it (!) but think it actually might have been called "Max's". It was advertised by a sandwich board outside.

It was in a little unit by a big perfume shop.

Any idea what it was, and if it's still there?

Hi My Mum is visting the island late October for 1 week. It's her first time there and I wanted to give her some tips, places to go, good places to eat, things to do. They are staying at the Bahia Blanca Rock Apartments in Playa Blanca.

Could you give me some info please, I've visited lanzarote.com and printed the info off there for her.

Many thanks

I also have visited many times, 2/3 times a year, over the last few years. However, each time always think should have stopped. Am probably a bit older than yourself, and lived abroad before, (when I was a holiday rep, etc.), but not in Lanzarote.

Am seriously considering coming and staying this year, am booked again for xmas/new year, but wondered if you have any good tips on finding long term rental accommodation, (as I know its sometimes hard to come by now, or, any good contacts/anyone who could point me in the right direction, for reasonable rental properties. Do you find accommodation easy for your short stays each time?

It would be for me and my son though, so a little more tranquil and space would probably be a better option, as he would attend school, probably in Tias.

If you have any good contacts, or know of anyone who we could contact in advance of going, would be preferable, then that would be a great help.

Thanks again, and hope you may be able to help.
Cheers,
Jan.

I am going to Costa Teguise at the end of November, and would like to hire a car at the airport. However, i'm a bit worried as i haven't been able to get directions once i get to Costa Teguise. I will be staying at the Barcelo La Galea Apartments, have you any idea where this is?
Regards
Paula

Jade.. ask me anything - answer nothing!!

Well Jade who started this thread and knows the Island so far has managed to answer precisely ZERO questions!!!!

Louise - why do you want market fruit and veg?

Most of the vegetables in the supermarkets are sourced locally or regionally so you won't have the same situation as we do have over here of eating under ripe fruit and veg that looks pretty but has been flown in from all over the globe.

YOu will find that the vegetable may look dirty or more deformed but that is because they don't have the ludicrous "quality control" whereby everything has to be shiny and perfectly round that we do over here.

Can't think of any veg markets of top of my head - tho organic food is virtually unheard of most of the veg is grown in organic like conditions anyway.

Hello Jade
We are going to Lanzarote, 3rd March 05, staying at the Costa del Teguis apartments (are they ok??). Would love to hear of places to eat/drink, good trips to go on ect. Is it best to hire a car?? Read about some caves (worth visiting?) What about a ferry trip to one of the other islands? Some of the comments on this site are worrying me about the cleanliness, footy hooligans ect. Really don't like the 'tourist' spots, would prefer to experiance the different culture (old town sounds good???). Any info would be great.

Hi Jade

Mistake in my last email, staying at the Teguisol Apartments, are they handy to everything?? Better to hire a car on the internet before going or just as cheap when we get there????

as will said, jade has opened a thread and then dissapeared so we will do her work for her!
holiday addict there is no bingo like gala here but the nearest thing is in arrecife which is about 12 to 15 euros taxi from pdc.you need your passport to get in and nobody speaks english so it helps to count in spanish although a picture of the bingo ball is flashed up quickly. it is like a casino atmosphere and can be costly if you dont have a shout. cash bingo is always played a couple of times a week(with 400 euro jackpot) at the toby jug and the barge inn both on the avenida in pdc.

Hi Jade!

im a man from sweden, going to lanzarote next year.

i like fishing, but i dislike commom tourist-tours. i would love to find any local fisherman who likes to fish for big-game fishing.
would love to catch a tuna or a shark while i am on vacation. i also would love to find a good place for dancing some nights away aswell...
i hope to get some tips from you, maybe we can dance some night?
