I think we are on your wavelenghth with restaurnats Mo.
Talking of Queues outside the Magnolia raises an interesting point. On our trips to mainland Spain we never ate out before 9 at night, some restaurants didn't open until 8.30 !!
It seems in Lanzarote, earlier dining out is the norm and more often than not we will be almost the last people in the restauarnt by 11pm. The fact that we mainly go in October and January (ie dark nights), may have something to do with this. Is it the norm also for the summer months like June/July/August ?
When we visit the Magnolia the queues have vanished by 9 so we don't have too many probs getting in. Have walked past it at 7 and it's heaving, similar to the Puerto ? across the road.
