Yes, I need something else now...
Posted by: Elle1971 ()

Right... I have everything I need to make Fajitas for dinner tonight. I'm even being extra domesticated and making my own spicy salsa.
But I can't seem to find soured cream in Playa Blanca. I know we can get it in Vivos... but I haven't seen it in either the Hiperdino or the Marcial (now Spar).

Ok, I thought... I'll see if I can find a recipe - so I hopped onto Google and found one for an "alternative soured cream", which sounded really nice. Only problem is, it's asked for Cottage Cheese - and I don't think I've seen that here either (I could be wrong though).

Does anyone know any different? Or do I need to be popping into Vivos on Thursday?

Cheers all!

Lol, Karen... that's still quite a feat. Most people THINK they can make a spag bol... but they just boil spaghetti and pour Dolmio over it! Hmmm...

It's a deal! We'll see you there! Will there be garlic bread too? Or would you like me to bring my special recipe?

Elle

If you want to bring the Elle Special Garlic bread, that's ok by me but give me plenty of notice though as I need to empty the aljibe to make way for your night's supply of wine.

Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha! I must admit to having to take Aljibe to babelfish... but when I read "raintank" I roared with laughter!

Aljibe = water storage tank

not to be confused with Pozo Negro = waste (septic) tank

But then again, you two won't need one of these as it seems you and Alan both s**t in the garden between b**l licking sessions.

I don't know if this is any use.

When I make a cheese cake I use Philadephia and Quork (I think that is it's name) as a substitute so the Quork might be what you are looking for Elle.

Failing that..buy some "fresh" milk which will have gone off by the time you get home and skim the top off = sour cream. LOL

Guess you and me are last up then Lynne hon. Mind you... I'm about to hit the hay.
Guido is snoring down by my feet, and Alan is snoring on the sofa.
I'll try Quork though... thanks hon!

Yes CG. Looked for Creme Fraiche too - and again I could only find it at Vivos.

I'm going to try the recipes given on here anyway. Wish me luck lol
