Name Game

Come on you clever lot.

I am trying to think of an appropriate and amusing name for the Dalmation dog used in a lot of Sara´s promotional work. (I´d put a picture on if I knew how to do it!).
This character is used for collecting donations etc so some reference to money would be brilliant but I also have to keep in mind what the name would mean if translated into Spanish.

I had thought of something like Dame (which means "give me" in spanish).

Others include :
Diesel
Disco
Diva
Dulce

Driving me mad this.......please help!

For any newbies :
SARA is the animal shelter on Lanzarote housing 300 abandoned and mistreated cats and dogs.

Female:
Esperanza - means hope
Ramona - means wise protector
Bibiana - means alive
Caridad - Spanish version of Charity - means dear
Domitila - means little tame one

Male:
Javier - means new house owner lol
Benito - means blessed
Paco - means free (Guido was very close to being called Paco)
Fausto - means lucky

We dug around for ages when looking for a name for Guido lol. Good luck!

grrrrrrrr

Now I´ve found 2,000 of them listed on the net and can´t decide.

I like

Dante
Darby
Dino
Divot
Dylan
Dexter

See where you´re coming from Elle but I need short and snappy and I think it needs to start with a D (don´t know why)

How about 'digger' as in gold digger. Translated into Spanish 'cavador'. shortened it can be 'Diga'.

You can't call your dog diva FFS!! Not unless its a miny chiuaua things and you've dyed its fur pink.

Have some respect for your dog.

And imagine shouting Heel Diva!! A dalmation is a proper dog - give the poor thing a decent name.

Perdita translates well plus was one of the dogs in the films plus shortens nicely to Purdy if its a girl.

I like Pongo too!!

Just incase anyone is a bit confused here. The dog I wish to name is a cartoon character Dalmatian and not a living breathing one!

I want to use it for fund raising both on and off the internet. Instead of having myself always asking for donations for the shelter I thought it would be better coming from a dog (albeit a cartoon).

"Done su dinero a Dexter"

"Donate your dosh to Domino"

I intend having a kids club on the website and would like to use "Diva, Dottie," or whatever, as a mascot.

I suppose I could have a main female dog with loads of puppies and use all the suggested names!
